Molly Jones

Ms. Molly Jones graduated from Barbe High School with both academic and vocal/musical scholarships. After high school, Ms. Jones attended McNeese State University where she studied Voice with Dr. Carol Lines, Piano with Dr. Christy Corley and Dr. Lina Morita, and Conducting/Choral Music Education with Dr. Darryl Jones. While at McNeese, she participated in many vocal ensembles such as Chamber Singers, Women's Ensemble, and Opera Workshop. Miss Jones was also selected to be a part of the American Choral Director's Association Collegiate Honor Chorus of Louisiana. Other performances include the 75th Anniversary of McNeese Musical Revue, Solo Recitals, and touring with the Chamber Singers. She also served as a soloist for 3 years in the Lake Area's production of Handel's Messiah, under the direction of Colette Bulber Tanner. While in college, Ms. Jones held the honor of receiving the "William Groves Vocal Scholarship," which is the highest-paying musical scholarship available at McNeese. Ms. Jones also served as Vice-President of the McNeese Chamber Singers. Ms. Jones graduated with honors from McNeese State University where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree of Music Education in Voice, Grades K-12.

Ms. Jones is very active in the SWLA Music Community and has performed with several ensembles in the area. She is currently singing in the Louisiana Choral Foundation - Masterwork's Choral. In addition to the group, she also performs in the LCF's Musical Fundraiser every year. Currently, Ms. Jones is singing at University United Methodist Church, and The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd as a paid staff member.

Ms. Jones' professional experience includes teaching at Sulphur High School, Conducting the pit orchestra for McNeese State University’s production of "The Secret Garden," and serving as the High School Chairperson of District V Honor Chorus.

Ms. Jones' professional affiliations include: Louisiana Music Educators' Association, American Choral Director's Association, Organization of American Kodály Educators, District V Vocal Music Teacher's Organization, and Alumnae member of Sigma Alpha Iota, Professional Music Fraternity of America, for which she served as the musical director for the Beta Chi Chapter at McNeese State University.
